Cleveland by Clevelanders

This Weekend in CLE: June 16-18

This weekend is for the dads, and CLE has tons of dad-tivities to join in on. Let's be honest, what dad doesn't like Duct Tape? Attend a festival completely dedicated to the stuff. There's also PorchFest, Gladiators and plenty of warm weather things to choose from. Happy weekending friends.

Third Fridays | 78th Street Studios | Friday 5-9pm

Start your weekend winding your way through the halls of this 170,000 square foot warehouse originally home to Baker Electric Motor Vehicle Company and then American Greetings' Creative Studios. Unwind from the week by chatting it up with Cleveland's artists and producers who now call the space home. Discover (and buy) authentic art, furniture, music and cuisine. Don't forget to grab a cocktail to keep you company while you roam.

Avon Duct Tape Festival | Veterans Memorial Park | Friday 4pm-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday 11am-5pm

We can't make this stuff up. In addition to activities dedicated entirely to Duct Tape, the fest offers food, carnival rides and live music all weekend long. Admission is free (so is parking) and we're willing to bet you've never seen a duct tape fashion show or parade before.

Larchmere PorchFest | Larchmere Neighborhood | Saturday 2-10pm

After a long winter, PorchFest is just what you need. Local bands set up on front porches throughout the neighborhood and play 30-40 minute sets to folks "camped-out" in front yards. Everyone can attend this fest including the kiddos so bring your blankets and chairs (coolers are also welcome) and take it all in. Start your day at the corner of E. 127th Street and Larchmere where you can pick up a printed map and a schedule, learn a little bit about the neighborhood and then be on your way. You can also find public restrooms here. Want to see as many bands as possible? Ride your bike.

SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES.

  • Ice Cream. That's an activity right? Have you been to Mitchell's yet?
  • Patios. Also an activity in our book.
  • Park it. Here's how you can spend three days exploring Cleveland parks.
  • When's the last time you did a little exploring at the West Side Market? Probably wander around on W. 25th afterwards.
  • More Dad's Day ideas.
