Monica Potter's Favorite Four
Monica First Pitch

1. Downtown Cleveland. There’s a resurgence and change in the air. The soul of the city offers a depth that you can’t find anywhere else and the richness you feel comes from people so real. It’s hard to find that, and Cleveland has it.

2. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Rainforest

3. Celebrating the Cleveland Browns in the muni lot

4. Lake Erie. There’s a certain moodiness about Lake Erie and while the ocean is nice, it’s not the same.

It feels far more like a European excursion than a jaunt so close to Cleveland.

For me, a perfect day is bicycling to Tremont and jumping on the towpath trail and cruising all the way down to Peninsula. After a bite to eat and a beer at the trailside Winking Lizard, load the bicycle up on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad steam train for a northbound trek. Head immediately to the bar car for a road soda and hang out the window to watch the national parks forested landscape roll by.

My Favorite Things to do in Cleveland
Jonathon Sawyer Image

One of my favorite things to do in Cleveland is ride my bike from MLK along the lake to work. I do this year round and I love seeing the seasons and lake change each day. My family and I also spend a good deal of our summer at University Circle.
